Geoff Peters

Geoff was raised on a sheep and wheat farm in the Wimmera region of Victoria before relocating to Colignan.  He has extensive experience in dry land farming and worked in engineering for many years.

On moving to Colignan, Geoff gained work in the irrigated horticulture industry, before developing GMP Farms with his wife Marion.

Geoff was a volunteer member of the State Emergency Service in his home town in the Wimmera and after moving to Colignan, he continued his community volunteering when he became an inaugural member of the local Ambulance Victoria, Community Emergency Response Team on which he served for fourteen years.

Marion Peters

Marion was born in Mildura and raised on her family's irrigated horticultural property in Colignan, learning all aspects of the industry as she grew up.

She also gained significant work experience in the catering industry in Melbourne as a youth and after returning to the family farm put her love of cooking with avocados into practice during six years as president of the Sunraysia Avocado Growers Association and its promotions subcommittee.  Introducing people to avocados, creating avocado recipes, and promoting avocados at the Mildura and Royal Melbourne Shows were her favourite activities during this time and she became fondly known by locals as The Avocado Lady.

Since developing GMP Farms with her husband Geoff and raising a family, Marion's community work changed from grower organisation oriented to following the needs of their children through involvement in their schools and local community groups. In more recent years Marion became a volunteer with the Australian Wildlife Conservancy.
